All The Best is switching to recyclable plastic for our own products
Sustainable pet supplies need to be conscientiously sourced and sustainably packaged. All the Best Pet Care is working toward offering more sustainable products for dogs and cats by using recyclable packaging for our own products. Currently, most municipalities where our stores are located do not accept recyclable plastic bags. However, All The Best packages with the “Return this bag to be recycled” logo shown below can be returned to our stores to be recycled.
Why All The Best collects recyclable plastic bags
The vast majority of plastic packaging is currently not recycled. This is partly because, currently, plastic recycling systems vary and are confusing. The available information on current best practices for manufacturers can be contradictory and inconclusive. Fortunately, we are able to partner with the Pet Sustainability Coalition. They have the expertise to assess options and make optimal recommendations in light of the ongoing change and improvement in recycling systems.
Currently, we are accepting these bags for recycling:
- All The Best and Wisely bags that have our “Return this bag to be recycled” logo on the front (shown at right). We move every possible product to recyclable packaging every time we reorder bags.
- Plastic bags from products we sell that have the How2Recycle logo on them
- Plastic bags from products we sell that have the number 4 with recycling arrows around it on the back (LDPE)
- All bags must be clean and dry, please!
Return your Open Farm and Nulo TerraCycle pet food packaging to All The Best
Look for the TerraCycle symbol on Nulo Challenger and Open Farm bags. These clean, empty pet food bags can be returned to All The Best, and we’ll return them to be recycled.Recycle Elasti Tag bands at All The Best
Elasti Tag bands similar to those used on All The Best’s Kathmandu Chews are recyclable using the Tag Back program. The tags are ground up and made into plastic lumber. Feel free to leave these tags with us at the register; we’ll take care of the rest!
